Have you ever experienced what I refer to as the “Phantom Apple Music?” It is a situation where your Apple Music goes “missing” from your iTunes. If you are music lover and you signed up to use Apple Music on your phone and would like to also enjoy this service on your PC, it might come as a surprise to you when you start up iTunes and find out that Apple Music is not showing up (God! I was so mad when this happened to me).
This could be a bug from the company or maybe we left a box unchecked. Whatever the reason may be, it brings a whole new level of frustration when we expect to see our Apple Music after we’ve launched iTunes and nothing comes up. To every problem, there is a solution; there is a really simple fix to this problem. You may not quickly be able to get this fix, especially if you are not a tech thespian. Do not worry, this article will take you by hands and walk you through getting your phantom Apple Music to appear again.
Apple Music not Showing in iTunes?
These simple steps will help restore it:
Step 1: Launch iTunes.
Step 2: In the Menu Bar, navigate to iTunes > Preferences.
Step 3: Be sure you select the General tab.
Step 4: If you notice that the Show Apple Music Features box is not selected, select it by checking the box beside it. In addition, you may want to tick the “iCloud Music Library” box to enable that feature as well. After you’re done checking the mentioned boxes, click OK to save your preferences. However, if the Show Apple Music Features has already been checked, uncheck the box, click OK, and then go through steps 2, 3, and 4 as listed above.
Notes
In most cases, Apple Music was apparently enabled but the feature was not visible, so you have to uncheck Show Apple Music Features, and then turn it on again for iTunes to show Apple Music again.
